Gina Anki has worked in the theatre industry for over 40 years, and guiding young artists through the challenging and rewarding aspects of the creative process has been an important source of joy and fulfillment for her.
A graduate of Theatre Arts at Wilfred Laurier University and Drama Therapy at the Institute of Drama Therapy in London, England, Gina has also trained with the Royal Shakespeare Company and performed in a number of Shakespearean plays. Gina founded Children’s Arts Theatre School over 30 years ago. Many hopeful, confident, actors have walked through the doors of CATS, all sharing a passion for the performing arts in their development of social and personal growth.
Gina has enjoyed working as an educator, consultant, and therapist in the public and private school sector. Her greatest achievement has been learning through her students, in their quest to share the magic of theatre with the world! In 2010, Gina purchased Theatrix Costume House, Canada’s leader in historical costume rentals and custom design costumes. Her determination and tenacity to build a costume empire in Canada has won her a solid reputation within the theatre community, film and television industry and corporate professionals.
